About Tiziana DellaRovere
Author, artist, and teacher Tiziana DellaRovere’s life’s work centers on her exploration of the deep psyche through the tradition of Christian mysticism and her work with thousands of clients through private sessions, trainings, retreats, and workshops.
Classically trained in law and philosophy in Italy before moving to the United States, Tiziana studied painting and sculpture at the California College of the Arts, clinical psychology at San Francisco State University, and seminary at the Liberal Catholic Church of Antioch, where she was among the first women ordained as a priest. Her writings, teachings, and sacred art are unified in her devotion to bringing the mystical experience of the Divine into everyday life.
An accomplished painter and sculptor, Tiziana cofounded the San Francisco Women’s Art Center in the late 1970s, has artwork in the archive collection of the Oakland Museum of California, and has exhibited her sculptures and her paintings in watercolor, gouache, and colored pencil, illuminated with gold leaf in the tradition of the Italian Renaissance. More than thirty of her gouache illuminations grace the pages of Adorata.
Equally gifted as a poet, she has received critical acclaim for her collaborations with composer Ethan Gans-Morse, including three operas, a program symphony, and an oratorio, which have been reviewed as “a huge achievement,” “a masterwork,” and “supremely compassionate” by publications such as The Oregonian and Oregon ArtsWatch.
All of Tiziana’s writings flow from her spiritual experiences, extolling the practice of love as a fierce, courageous, and down-to-earth power that can heal the heart of humanity.
